Cherokee Nation Anna Mitchell Cultural & Welcome Center

This welcome and cultural center is based at the entrance of the town of Vinita and Route 66. The existing facility served as the city’s old golf club including the golf course and amenities. The site and facility has been re-envisioned to be a cultural and educational facility, inside and outside. It boasts of custom artisan metal screens with an amphitheater like “Vessel” with a reflecting pool, educational signs and cultural items giving the guest a truly unique experience. Inside the facility you are greeted with an amazing mixture of Cherokee artisan work of a bead wall, chandelier, wood work, and modern interior design. The program upstairs has a gallery for all cultural items, a coffee bar, retail center, and commercial kitchen for events. Downstairs has complimentary classrooms, studios, and ancillary spaces. Together, the building offers a unique experience to the guest of Cherokee heritage.
